Teaching jobs in Aboriginal schools are often available. If you are seeking a teaching job in Aboriginal community controlled schools, scroll down this page to explore the employment opportunities for teachers in the Aboriginal Independent Community (AIC) Schools in Western Australia. Specific positions are listed below as well as information regarding the submission of a form expressing a general interest in working in the AIC Schools.
The link to complete and submit a general Expression of Interest form is located in the last advertisement on this page. This form can be distributed to all schools or only those nominated by you. Please note that the AIC Schools are entirely independent and perform their own employment functions. Once an Expression of Interest form is submitted it is then up to the schools to make contact, dependent upon the vacancies they have available, or those which become available during the school year.
Please note, as per legal requirement, registration with the Teachers Registration Board of Western Australia (TRB), along with Police clearance, is essential prior to accepting a position to teach in an Aboriginal Independent Community School. Click here for information about the Working With Children checks. Please pay particular attention to the instructions under the heading 'Cost of a check and how to apply'.
